SARA Represents Seychelles at the International Amateur Radio Union Region 1 (IARU_R1) Virtual Conference 2020

SARA represented Seychelles at the above conference from October 11th -16th 2020. There were over 250 delegates attending from Member Societies from the majority of the countries covered by the IARU Region 1.

All the different aspects of Amateur Radio were covered at the conference and important initiatives agreed to protect the Amateur Bands which continue to be under threat from mainly the mobile phone operators who are continually looking for more bandwidth to share or take from the Amateur community if it is deemed not to be utilizing that spectrum. The main theme was the need to embrace change that is occurring and the need to attract the youth to sustain the hobby whilst educating the regulators on what modern day Amateur Radio is all about.
