S77SARA CLUB CALLSIGN LAUNCH

On Friday the 2nd June 2023, for first time, the club callsign S77SARA was operated targeting international HF traffic and generating its 1st pileup. 

Through contributions and effort from Richard S79RP, Michael S79KAG, Pat S79PAT, Jaya S79JKN and the main operator S79KW Kamil, S77SARA has been equipped with an Icom IC-7300 connected to a 1-element Inverted Delta Loop using an external tuner covering 20-6m. This arrangement is an interim solution prior to the installation of equipment that has been kindly donated by YASME. More on this to follow...

That night the main band was 15m (21.276 MHz) and later on also 20m (14.255 MHz). Stations from all around the world came on the air including Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.

It was a very successful evening giving S77SARA 195 QSO's on SSB and everyone in the club a taste of promising future operations from the club station.
